Shortly after I announced Give All The Things!, a pretty wonderful thing happened: even more people contacted me about donating products! One thing that's delightful about this is that some of these products are something I wouldn't have known about otherwise, like the beautiful earrings I get to give away today (made by one of my favorite PWDs!):
Product: One pair of Sterling Silver sculpted AW "feather" earrings - these normally retail for US$105.00!
Made possible by: Alecia Wesner / www.aleciawesner.com
Why you want this: Did you see them?! They're gorgeous! Here is Alecia's description:
These spectacular feathers have a combination high shine polish mixed with matte textured finish, creating an extra dramatic shimmer. Elegant and graceful, these leaf-like feathers dangle vertically from the piercing measuring 2 7/8" long and are 1/4" wide. Each earring is authenticated with the trademark AW logo on the reverse.
Alecia also donates 10% of the selling price for her items to JDRF, so even if you don't win, you should totally go visit her Etsy shop and buy some stuff.

ReplyDeleteI could see wearing those earrings for a lot of celebrations, they're gorgeous! The first opportunity that springs to mind is Christmas celebrations.
ReplyDeleteI envision wearing these on my 25th diabetes-anniversary in 2013.
ReplyDeleteI could see myself wearing these on my 21st Birthday next month ^_^ it will be 21 years of living, 19 years of Type 1 diabetes and all around good time.
ReplyDeleteI will wear these earrings to celebrate the return home of all of our beautiful college-age daughters for Christmas, including our youngest with T1DM who is finishing her first semester at school and is totally rocking it!
ReplyDeleteI would wear these gorgeous earrings to my birthday celebration at Trans-Siberian Orchestra!
ReplyDeleteI would wear these to celebrate finally getting a super awesome a1c!
ReplyDeleteone kind of celebration? they are gorgeous, I would rock them with my beautiful dress at the upcoming Military Ball :)
ReplyDeleteI will wear them to celebrate my 38th birthday and 3-month diaversary (I can count in months during the first year, and then in half-year-increments for two to three years after I decided).
ReplyDeleteMy twin sister and I were diagnosed in 1975 and 1977 - over 70 years of Type 1 together! We still share lots of things, and I'd love to share these with her. She's my rock - first to pump, first to CGM - and I feel so lucky to have a built-in support group for life. We turned 21 again (42) a few weeks ago!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! :)
DeleteI could see wearing these Christmas eve. They would really sparkle in all that candlelight!
ReplyDeleteSparkle sparkle sparkle! I would wear these to my daughter's b-day party.
ReplyDeleteI'd wear them in celebration of my love's birthday - Christmas Day. I'd wear them on his diaversary (Oct 6th) and mine (May 9th). I'd wear them when I take the NCLEX in February to have the love and support of the DOC with me. I'd wear them to my Endo appointments to have the DOC reminding me that test results help guide me, but they don't grade me or my effort. I'd wear them on the days I'm kicking diabetes' butt and on the days it's kicking mine. I'd wear them on my 30th (!!) birthday in April.
ReplyDeleteI'd wear them to celebrate. I'd wear them for some DOC encouragement. I'd wear them whenever I want and need my friends closeby.
Gorgeous response, Ashley. :)
DeleteA Christmas gift that my wife would love, now that is reason to celebrate. She is impossible to shop for! But an awesome Type 3 none the less.

ReplyDeleteI think I would wear these all the time, too, but I think they would be perfect for a debut on my 26th diaversary on New Year's Day. I mean, wouldn't these be perfect was to celebrate the ball dropping as the clock turns to midnight and diabetes turns 26? :)
